Our Story Begins at Home

Since 1986, Te Whānau Arohanui has provided a safe place for tamariki and whānau in need of care. Founded by Roka Hurihia and Kerry Cameron, who opened their home to young people who needed it most, the Trust was established in Waitati through a partnership with Kāti Huirapa Rūnaka ki Puketeraki. Today, those same doors remain open, welcoming the wider community to share the spaces that shaped Te Whānau Arohanui for almost four decades.
